The 'other side' is in a slow-motion meltdown. Biden is handicapped by a bare majority in the Senate, but he keeps pushing. He knows how to use, and is using, all the tools at his disposal as president and BIG LEGISLATION is only one of them. Afghanistan was a losing proposition from the get-go. Getting out was a relief (thank you, Trump, actually, for setting that up). The jobs report is out today and the economy is clearly rebounding. Inflation will probably flatten as the bumps of the Covid economy are left behind. And covid itself, fingers crossed, seems to be in rapid retreat.

So, what was it again you were worried about? From your perch in Sri Lanka?
