It's not big government. That's not the goal. It's to level the economic playing field.

What passes for BIG GOVERNMENT is, in the eyes of liberals, merely a system of programs to right economic wrongs. Programs which, ironically, ENABLE capitalism.

Yes, ENABLE.

Without those leveling programs, society would, under the heel of unchecked capitalism, gather so tightly at the bottom of the economic ladder that they would ultimately destroy the ladder. That's what Marx predicted. And that is what the left seeks to prevent.

In short, the left, in promoting individual economic stability, enables the continuation of capitalism!

Some call it socialism. Others call it a social safety net. I call it a productivity trampoline.

You trip, you fall, you hit that trampoline, it stops you from splatting on the bottom and instead bounces you back into the workforce. No excuses, pal, back to work!
