My own solution, read, clap, comment.

Find a system for how many claps any post gets, and then keep to it. Clap for every story bad or good, according to your own system. You get 50, use 'em! Any algorithm is only as good as the data it works off of.

There is a lot of good stuff on Medium. But like a mine, you have to find the vein.
