The problem with a 'we're all doomed' exhortation is that it allows for no alternative. Despise the US all you like, but nations, like their citizens, are neither birthed nor exist in a vacuum. Life is a thing of context. Put another way, we're all in this together.

As an influencer, especially of young people, painting a scenario of inevitable demise has an enervating effect on your followers. Instead of going out and trying to effectuate healthy change (as, say, on election day), they stay home and commiserate with their friends about how it's all so effed up, there is nothing we can do about it, and here's the writings of Maria Milojković as 'proof.' Sure you're not the only one with such a perspective, but every voice counts, just like every vote not cast doesn't count.

We NEED change. This WORLD needs change. Offering no alternative to doom and gloom only perpetuates the intolerable status quo, or worse, pushes us more quickly down into the valley of doom.

Perhaps that's what you're after?

I hope not, because we are all in this together, and one voice at a time, one vote at a time, one pull of the oar at a time and we can effectuate meaningful change. It would not be the first time humanity has done so.

Take care!
