Saying 'everything is relative' is a self-destructive statement is (relatively) wrong. I find it to be a self-affirming statement. It places the holder of truth firmly in the frame of truth and underscores the responsibility each person has for the truths they hold, relative to themselves, for their own life.

I'd also say that the supposed paradox in the statement 'everything is relative' is based on logic that itself is based on absolute rules. Logic dictates that everything is every *thing,* but, what is a 'thing'? If there is a set of 'everything' then are you defining the universe in finite terms? Is a subatomic particle a wave thing, or a particle thing? Or a both thing? Are you the sum of your 'things'? If not, what is the thing that isn't one of your things? Silly questions! Not really...
