What does it reveal about human nature? Nothing we don't already know. Humans, like all the rest of nature, test boundaries (any parent will attest to that truth!). The artist set up a no boundaries space--all acts were thus 'in bounds' to her. More than that she INVITED normally out-of-bounds acts to be performed upon her by placing those implements in that space with her. The fact that she emerged relatively unscathed is a tribute to those around her who acted to enforce standard societal boundaries she herself rejected. That is not evil.
